The UK Market
At present, the UK gaming and amusement market is undergoing a major change as a result of new trends in leisure spending, the application of new technologies to gaming and amusement machines, a changing retail market, the introduction of the smoking ban and the implementation of the new 2005 Gambling Act. Gamestec delivered the first £70 jackpot machine following the introduction of the new jackpot level.
Danoptra operates more than 35,000 gaming and amusement machines, including 2,000 jukeboxes and close to 3,750 pool tables in a range of venues across the UK.
The pub market
A key marketplace for the Group which has been underpinned by the strengthening of the Senior Team. Paul Bowgett joined in November 2010 as a second Customer Relationship Director for the Gamestec Managed Houses sector. Paul works along side Steve Barber who is responsible for the Tenanted and Free Trade areas of the business, which has trading agreements with many of the National and Regional Pub
companies. Customers include Enterprise Inns Plc, JD Wetherspoon Plc, Greene King PLC, Town & City Plc, Barracuda, Marstons, Punch Taverns and Whitbread.
The gaming market
The UK’s bookmakers are an important market segment for Danoptra, which operates Fixed Odds Betting Terminals in betting offices across the country. Danoptra machines also operate in bingo and
casino venues including Mecca Bingo, part of Rank Group Plc
The leisure market
The Group and its brands have strong recognition throughout the UK leisure industry and machines can be found in a range of retail venues including family entertainment centres, universities, motorway services, arcades and airports. Customers include, Cineworld, Oasis Centre Parcs and Showcase Cinemas.
